You and your child are invited to meet Centerpoint Ambulatory Surgery Center staff and tour the facility. To help alleviate the fears of both child and parent, please call to make an appointment prior to the day of surgery.
There will be individualized instructions about when to stop letting your child eat and drink.
For comfort, children may wear their pajamas to the surgery center from home and then change back into them following surgery.
Both parents may stay with their child in the pre-operative area before surgery and in the step-down recovery area following surgery. A favorite stuffed animal or security blanket may accompany your child throughout the process. A parent of legal guardian must remain at the facility while their child is under our care. Please bring a bottle or sippy cup if your child does not drink out of a cup. Your child may have formula or breast milk following the procedure.
